Beijing Normal–Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) has published a new pedagogical casebook titled Cases on China's Partnerships and International Development in Asia, released in March 2026 by the US-based academic publisher IGI Global.

The project is a fully BNBU initiative involving both faculty and students, representing an inter-faculty and interdisciplinary collaboration between the Faculty of Business and Management (FBM) and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS). The volume is co-edited by Dr. Youssef Elhaoussine (FBM), Dr. Edoardo Monaco (GAD-FHSS), Dr. Selçuk Çolakoğlu (GAD-FHSS), and Dr. Michal Vavřík (GAD-FHSS).
The book includes 18 academic case studies written by BNBU students from both FBM and FHSS, each examining China’s cooperation with a specific Asian country. Together, the cases offer a structured overview of China’s partnerships across the region and provide an analytical perspective for an international academic audience.
Designed as a student-centered academic initiative, the project involved students researching and writing each case under the supervision of the four faculty editors, who provided methodological guidance and a standardized case study framework. Among the contributors, 11 students from the Globalisation and Development (GAD) programme in FHSS authored the following case studies (including alumni):
Hao CHANG: Russia: Key Bridge for China-Europe Cooperation
Ting HUANG: Myanmar: China's Strategic Gateway to the Indian Ocean
Xi LI: South Korea: Sino–Korean Cooperation in a Competitive Era
Zhiqi HUANG: Pakistan: Pillar of China's Belt and Road Initiative
Weitong ZHANG: Kazakhstan: Multi-Sector Regional Development Framework With China
Kuntai LIN: India: China's Asymmetric Strategic Partner
Bo ZHANG: Iraq: China's Strategic Partner in Energy and Reconstruction
Yi TAO: Saudi Arabia: From Oil Trade to Co-Development With China
Zhe FU: Singapore: Designing Win-Win Cooperation With China
Kaidong LIN: Sri Lanka: China's Belt and Road Partner in the Indian Ocean
Shurui GUO: Laos: Southeast Asian Gateway of the Belt and Road
As all case studies follow a consistent structure, the volume serves as both a teaching resource and a foundation for cross-country comparative analysis by instructors and researchers worldwide.
