Digital Traces, Social Stories: A Student-Led Interdisciplinary Workshop on Publishing in Top Academic Journals – March 31, 2026

The Institute of Cross-Cultural Studies (ICCS) is delighted to  invite you to a special workshop entitled ‘Digital Traces, Social Stories: A Student-Led Interdisciplinary Workshop on Publishing in Top Academic Journals’.

This event will feature three of our FHSS Year 4 students, who will share their firsthand experiences of how they used data to shape, support, and tell a story in their published research papers. It is a unique opportunity to understand the challenges involved and discover the strategies for transforming raw data into compelling academic narratives.

Presenters:

  • WANG Yi (DSS-DGS): Gender Revolution in Parenting: How Stay-at-Home Dads in China Are Reconstructing Masculinity and Gender Roles through Social Media

  • LI Yushan (DCOM-CCGC): Critical Discourse Analysis of Domestic Housework on Weibo
