Programme Features
1. An innovative integration of language, culture, and digital technology
DIS combines bilingual competence, intercultural understanding, digital media skills and AI applications. Unlike conventional programmes that focus mainly on language, media or technology, DIS develops students’ integrated capacity to work across all three areas.
2. An upgraded humanities programme for the AI era
Students will explore AI and computer-aided translation, AI-human collaboration, digital content production, social media communication, and ethical and legal issues in digital society. They will learn to use AI tools while retaining human cultural sensitivity, judgement and empathy.
3. Closely aligned with China’s global development
The programme addresses growing demand for professionals in areas such as the Belt and Road Initiative, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Chinese enterprises going global, digital cultural diplomacy, cross-border e-commerce localisation and global communication of China.
4. Strong practical and career orientation
DIS combines theory, technology and practice. Students will participate in professional learning through internships, digital communication projects and a final-year project, preparing them for real-world intercultural communication challenges.
